OffToCook ("the app") helps you track what's in your kitchen and decide what to cook next. This page explains what data the app collects and how it's used.

Information you provide

• Account details: name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text) when you register.
• Household data: the ingredients you tell the app you have, the dishes you cook, cooking history and ratings you log, and household preferences (family size, taste preferences, dietary notes) you enter during setup.

How this data is used

All of the above is used only to power the app's core feature: recommending what to cook next based on your ingredients, preferences, and cooking history. It is not sold, and it is not used for advertising.

Analytics and notifications

When you use the mobile app, Firebase Analytics receives app usage events such as an app-open event, and Microsoft Clarity may collect interaction and performance diagnostics to help improve the app. These services are used for analytics and product improvement, not advertising, and we do not send your account credentials or kitchen contents to them.

Notifications are optional. If you enable them, the app stores a device notification token with your account so it can deliver OffToCook reminders. You can disable notifications at any time from your device settings or the app's Preferences page.

Third-party AI recommendations (optional)

If AI-powered recommendations are enabled on the server you're using, a request containing your current ingredient list, recent cooking history (dish names and cuisines only), and household preferences is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a recommendation. No account credentials, email, or password are included in that request. If AI recommendations aren't enabled, none of your data ever leaves the app's own server — recommendations are computed locally by a deterministic scoring algorithm.

Data storage

Your account and household data is stored on the server operated for this app. It is not shared with any other service beyond the optional Gemini API call and the analytics/notification services described above.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your ingredients, cooking history, and preferences at any time from within the app. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, visit https://offtocook.ateeq.in/account/delete — this works whether or not you have the app installed, and deletion happens immediately with no retention period.
